Shorewood Hills was established in the late 1950’s and is now fully developed with 80 custom homes. The subdivision spans the border between Bloomfield and West Bloomfield Townships. The Bloomfield Hills School district serves all residents.
Over half of the homes have shoreline on a private 15-acre lake that meanders through the length and breadth of the subdivision. Those homeowners not directly on peaceful Shorewood Lake have access to it at a park area with a beach, picnic tables and an adventure play structure. Powercraft are not allowed.
An oasis in the suburbs, the lake, woods and wetlands support a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. Since no major road cuts through the neighborhood, it is ideal for walking and biking, and the lake is popular for fishing, kayaking and ice skating.
